The Baram-1 well, on the north portion of the Garmian Block, was spudded on August 13, 2013, and drilled to a total depth of 3,730 metres. In February 2014, an open-hole test in the Oligocene reservoir confirmed a gross interval of 73 metres that flowed 42 degree API oil and water to surface at an approximate rate of 600 barrels per day. The wireline log and test data obtained indicate the test was conducted across an oil-water contact in low permeability reservoir. Subsequently, the Baram well was relinquished as it is considered high-risk and non-core to WesternZagros’s development plans.
